rolling the ball back up the hill

I gave Dancer Girl a Santa Clause bag full of dresses. She wore a puffy strapless short princess dress and it looked so cute on her. For a split second I thought about taking it back, but then realized that I just never ever wore it and that my room is a closet and I can't keep excess stuff in it.

Right after putting on the dress and looking awesome, she lifted her leg up to show me something on her knee. "Look!" she said, pointing at a...bruise! "And look!" she said, sticking her elbow up to reveal a pretty nasty welt. She doesn't remember how she got those bruises, but she has been drunk, and she's a Japanese girl, which seems to be reason enough to have mystery bruises.

One of mama's good old customers came in and bought an expensive bottle of wine, which I drank. Because I drank it, I immediately decided that it would be a wonderful idea to go anywhere but home after work. I think mama was tired because she let us out early, so I took the last train over to Boxer's. He was yapping on the phone to some hostess when I walked in the door. WTF!? I mean I have no claims on him or anything, but still...!
There was an earthquake last night. It was kind of a big one and it lasted a little longer than I thought it should have. That's what I thought during the Niigata earthquake that squashed that poor city a few years ago. But I guess it wasn't too big a deal. "It's an earthquake!" I said excitedly. "Oh yeah," said Boxer after a dopey pause (he's not from Tokyo so he actually said そうやな!).
I bought three months worth of contacts because I just ran out. 20,000yen! Talk about daylight robbery. Then I bought two summer dresses and a funny shirt dress which will definitely be out of fashion next year but I don't care. And a new pair of shoes. I need to go to shopaholics anonymous meetings or something.
